Placement in sessions will depend upon the level of ability of the individual Junior although we try to have appropriate age groups.
Consistent rallying skills are necessary for session B at 6pm.
Players are asked to check their names on the register, bring a water bottle, wear sun protection and a hat if necessary; but, if the weather is poor they should be warmly dressed. Tennis shoes must be worn. If you know in advance that your child will be away for a session please note it on the register in the clubhouse.
Please register for the Junior Development Program by signing up on our website at www.oakbaytc.com. This is open to OBTC members only.
Parent VOLUNTEERS are needed please.
NB. From April until October, Juniors are encouraged to continue playing on Monday and Friday afternoons; however, Fridays will be less structured as we want to encourage the juniors to enjoy the social aspect of tennis as well as the formality; consequently, we hope to give them time to practice their skills.
On Friday afternoons after 4pm, Juniors have court time as long as an adult is playing with them. We hope that parents will make use of this time to play with their children.
Non member parents may play with their children during the times allotted to Juniors. Please sign the guest book in the clubhouse, stating your child’s name, and star* yours so that you will not be charged a guest fee. The only way a player can improve is with practice.
Our goal is for your children to enjoy the game, make ongoing friendships for their future years at this tennis club and have fun.
Tennis is a lifelong sport, good for the brain, good for the body and great for a family activity.
We hope to see Juniors on the courts!
